In order to apply for Kazakhstan single entry tourist visa, you will need to provide the following documents:

1. A letter with a request to issue a visa addressed to the Consulate General of Kazakhstan, indicating the purpose of your trip, your contact in Kazakhstan, the dates of your planned trip, and all cities to be visited.

2. A completed visa application (PDF document, Word document) (one per person). Be sure to complete all the fields or your application could be denied.

3. Your original and valid passport, with at least one blank page for a visa. Your passport must be valid for at least six months longer than the terms of the requested visa. For example if requesting a one month visa, your passport must not expire for at least seven months. Please include a photocopy of the picture page of passport as well.

4. One passport size photo of the applicant.

5. A letter from the hosting tourist company or a copy of your hotel reservation in Kazakhstan must be included.

6. A Money Order made payable to the Consulate General of Kazakhstan - we DO NOT accept cash, company or personal checks.

7. A pre-paid return mailer for us to send your passports back to you. The return mailer must be from the United States Postal Service (USPS) or FedEx ONLY. You cannot use UPS, DHL, etc. Please note the envelope MUST BE pre-paid and self-addressed. The Consulate General does not assume any liability for the loss of documents submitted or returned by regular mail.

As of February 15, 2004, the Republic of Kazakhstan issue’s single entry business, tourist and private (up to one month) visas to the citizens of 45 countries without an official invitation from one of the Kazakhstan authorities; Ministry of Foreign Affairs/ Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In its place we will require a written statement from either the applicant themselves, or their employer stating why they desire to travel to Kazakhstan. This statement should be included with the application and submitted to the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in New York.

The citizens of the following countries DO NOT require an official invitation for a single business visa (up to 30 day of validity), single (30 days) tourist visas, single private visa (30 days):

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Ireland, Iceland, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Monaco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, USA, United Arab Emirates, Croatia, Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria, Malta, Cyprus, Slovenia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, the Sultanate of Oman

1. A written statement with a request to issue a visa, including a trip purpose

2. A completed visa application form. (PDF document).

3. A passport size photo (color or black-white) of the applicant.

4 .Your original and valid passport, with at least one blank page for a visa. Your passport must be valid for at least six months longer than the terms of the requested visa. For example if requesting a one month visa, your passport must not expire for at least seven months. Also a photocopy of the first page of passport.

5. A money order or company check made payable to the Consulate of Kazakhstan in New York is accepted (no cash or personal checks accepted).

6. If application is made by mail, enclose a self-addressed envelope with prepaid postage or completed express mail air bill. *Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan is not responsible for any loss or delays incurred for shipments consigned to these delivery services.

7. Copy of invitation letter from a host company in Kazakhstan(not required for up to one month single entry visas). The invitation must clearly indicate the following: name of applicant; exact name of inviting company; exact dates of the visit to Kazakhstan ; the itinerary. Inviting company should provide the confirmation (visa support/telex) for your trip through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.

8. A cover letter from applicant's company, briefly summarizing the purpose of the visit, including some information about the company.

NOTE: For all children under sixteen years old regardless of visa category will be free of charge. Please note that in order to speed up the processing we need your phone number and e-mail address. NOTE: For all children under sixteen years old will be free of charge. NOTE: Forms and documents submitted in a manner different from that of described above will not be accepted. If you apply personally or through a courier service, you and your courier must get a pick-up receipt from a visa officer. You must present this receipt to obtain your documents when they are ready. The normal processing time for a visa request is 2-5 days. If you apply by mail, please add one day to the visa processing time. Please note that mail accepted by the Consulate of Kazakhstan are FedEX, Express Mail United States Post Service. The Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan in New York expedites the issuance of visas only when all the requirements are met. The visa processing fee is not refundable. All foreign citizen must register at the local Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan or at the hotel within 72 hours upon arrival to Kazakhstan. Otherwise they will be fined by the Immigration Service on departure.
